The device will be deployed in all medical biology laboratories. When they arrive, patients who wish to benefit from screening will complete a self-questionnaire designed to identify the sexually transmitted infections to be screened for. In addition to HIV, the following infections are included: Chlamydia trachomatis, gonococcus, syphilis, and hepatitis B. personnel.

Screening coverage is 100% for those under 26 years old and 60% for the rest of the population (Liability Supplemental Health Insurance covers out-of-pocket costs).

The measure was announced in September 2022 and included in the 2023 Social Security Financing Bill against the backdrop of an increase in sexually transmitted diseases from 2021 to 2023.
