AMD has announced the start of global sales of new Ryzen 7000 processors that do not have the “X” suffix in the name. These chips differ from their older counterparts in their nominal power consumption reduced to 65 W, lower clock frequencies, and more affordable prices.
The older model Ryzen 9 7900 offers 12 cores with support for 24 virtual threads, and runs at up to 5.4 GHz. AMD has priced this processor at $429 in the US and €479 in the European Union.
The Ryzen 7 7700 model offers 8 cores with support for 16 virtual threads, and runs at up to 5.3 GHz. The recommended cost of this chip in the US is $ 329, and in the EU – € 369.
The younger model Ryzen 5 7600 received 6 cores with support for 12 threads. The processor runs at up to 5.1 GHz. The novelty is estimated by the manufacturer at $229 in the US and €259 in the EU.
Sooner or later, these processors will also reach Russian retail, as was the case with their older counterparts.
Profile media yesterday published reviews these novelties. In our previous article, excerpts of the main theses from these publications were given. In particular, reviewers note that despite the significantly reduced power consumption, the younger models are not far behind in performance from their older counterparts. At the same time, they are cheaper and come with complete cooling systems.
