Work on phase 3 of the Tihange-Tinlot link will begin on November 30 following more than 20 years of blockage, announced Sunday the Walloon Minister of Climate, Energy, Mobility and Infrastructure, Philippe Henry, in a communicated. The contract was awarded to the temporary company Galère – Stadsbader Contractors.
“The file was delayed for a long time, mainly following concerns over land rights. The intervention of the courts was necessary to unblock the situation last July. The permit was then able to be granted,” we can read in the press release.
This announcement therefore marks the end of the work on phases 1 and 2, between Tihange and the Gottes roundregarding, and the start of work on phase 3, between the Gottes roundregarding and the Saint-Vitu roundregarding.
“This link allows secure access to the valley, particularly for transit traffic, and will make local traffic more fluid,” explains the minister, quoted in the press release.
