Start of submission of applications from new entrant livestock farmers for the purchase of animal feed

By decision of the Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, Mr. Giorgos Stylios, the eligibility of Measure 22 is expanded “Emergency temporary support for farmers and SMEs particularly affected by the effects of the Russian invasion of Ukraine».

With the 4or amendment to the decision numbered 3148/18-11-2022 (B’ 5873) of the Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, the newly entrant EAE breeders of the year 2021 are exempted from the obligation to document production activity based on a turnover equal to or greater than €2,000.

In particular, the eligibility criteria in Article 6 are replaced as follows:

“Farmings with more than 100 sheep and goats must document their production activity based on a turnover greater than or equal to €2,000.00 in the sector in question (as derived from the AADE data which will be described in detail in the invitation). This criterion will also be met for the island regions that will receive the increased aid of 15%, while for the fire-affected regions of Northern Evia this criterion will not apply in any class. Also excluded from the documentation of production activity based on a turnover greater than or equal to €2,000.00 are the newly entrant EAE breeders of the year 2021.

Livestock holdings with more than 15 cattle must document their production activity based on a turnover greater than or equal to €2,000.00 in the sector in question (as derived from the AADE data which will be described in detail in the invitation). This criterion will also be met for the island regions that will receive the increased aid of 15%, while for the fire-affected regions of Northern Evia this criterion will not apply in any class. Also excluded from the documentation of production activity based on a turnover greater than or equal to €2,000.00 are the newly entered EAE breeders of the year 2021″.

The other criteria for inclusion in Measure 22 remain in force, as defined in decision number 3148/18-11-2022 (B’ 5873).

The relevant application is open from 17-03-2023 to 23-03-2023 and available on the website eae.opekepe.gov.gr

It is pointed out that those of the interested new entrant breeders of the year 2021 who were rejected in the 1st invitation due to the eligibility criterion of turnover in livestock farming should also apply again.

Declaration of FSAAT C. Pen:

«With today’s decision, we solve the issue of the inclusion of newly entrant breeders in Measure 22. We support new producers in order to face the increased costs, a consequence of the exogenous crises. We are constantly looking for new ways to strengthen them. We are by their side».
