Jason Robertson set up three goals and his 43rd goal of the season to lead the Dallas Stars to a 5-1 win over the Nashville Predators on Monday.
At 23, the star winger for the Stars reached the 100-point plateau for the first time in his career, in his third NHL season.
It was his second four-point game in a matter of days, following a similar tally against Arizona on Friday. The No. 21 Stars has ten points in his last three outings.
The former 39th overall pick in the 2017 draft had a real breakthrough during the 2021-2022 schedule, during which he amassed 41 goals in 74 games.
Dallas has five games left in the season (42-21-14), which moved two points ahead of the Colorado Avalanche to second in the Central Division standings.
Colorado (45-24-6), however, has two more games to play than Peter DeBoer’s squad.
The Texas squad will make the playoffs for the fourth time in five years, with their third coach during that span.
Robertson’s linemates Roope Hintz and Joe Pavelski also hit the mark at the expense of Juuse Saros, while Colin Miller also moved the ropes.
In his first start since returning from injury, Stars No. 2 goaltender Scott Wedgewood came within minutes of posting the seventh shutout of his career.
Preds defenseman (38-30-8) Cal Foote ended his perfect night’s work at 15:10 of the third period.
Wedgewood had not played for six weeks, his previous departure dating back to February 18.
