The dance competition StarDance is a phenomenon that is moving the Czech Republic for the thirteenth time this year. The interest from the audience is huge and the performances of individual well-known personalities are a hot topic not only on social networks. But it’s not just famous personalities, individual dancers are also slowly becoming known to the general public with their performances in the show. This time, PrahaIN.cz focused on dance courses offered by most professionals. We were mainly interested in their prices.
Since 2006, a number of important names in Czech show business have passed through the StarDance competition. Among the winners of the prestigious title are, for example, Roman Vojtek, Dana Batulková, Anna Polívková or Jiří Dvořák. But they were not alone. None of them would have reached the finals without the professional guidance provided by professional dancers who often participate in the competition regularly.
Not only thanks to repeated participation, some professionals already become celebrities themselves. A shining example can be Dominik Vodička, who has already won the competition twice. The first time in 2019 with Veronika Khek Kubařová and the second time in 2023 with Darija Pavlovičová. This year he is dancing with the fighter Martina Ptáčková, and on social networks it seems that a large part of the audience is sending votes to him more than to his partner. Martin Prágr also has his own fan base, who accompanies Marta Dancingerová on the dance floor this year. He gained some fans thanks to his participation in the Czech version of the Survivor competition.
The performances of well-known personalities can inspire many a viewer to try the dance for themselves. And where else to start than directly with your favorite dancer “from TV”. In fact, there is nothing simpler, as most professionals, in addition to competitive dancing, also take courses for the public. We looked at how much such a course from StarDance dancers would cost.
The driver charges 2 thousand per hour
And we will start with the already mentioned Dominik Vodička. On his website, he offers mass Latin American dance classes for ladies of all ages. One-hour lessons are held every week, and Vodička promises not only basic steps, but also more interesting dance variations. Ten lessons cost 3,490 crowns.
For those who would like to have the hall to themselves, then Vodička offers individual lessons. For exactly 2 thousand crowns, the dancer is available for 60 minutes only to one lady or couple. He is said to be able to learn the basics of Latin American and standard dances. A wedding package is then designed for future newlyweds. It includes five 60-minute individual lessons and tailor-made choreography. The price is 12,000 crowns.
Prágr is silent about the prices and teaches Mazůch in Ostrava
Martin Prágr also offers individual dance lessons. However, he is on his own websitein terms of prices, somewhat mysterious. He does not state the specific amount anywhere. What is certain, however, is that he offers 45-minute lessons in Prague and Ostrava. He also offers to create a wedding dance, but even in this case he does not specify a specific price.
Jakub Mazůch has his own dance studio. He participated in this year’s series of the competition together with influencer and chef Chili Ta. However, we have rather sad news for those interested from Prague, because his studio is located in Ostrava. However, there is a large number of courses for individuals and couples to choose from. Each lesson lasts 60 (for individuals) or 75 minutes (for couples). The price in both cases is 2,400 crowns for 10 lessons.

A trial lesson with Bartuńek costs 600 crowns
Lukáš Bartuněk also teaches dance, who accompanies Lucia Vondráčková on the StarDance dance floor. A trial individual lesson under his guidance is based on information from website Maestro dance schools for 600 crowns for 45 minutes. This is a discounted price that is only valid for the first lesson. As part of an individual lesson, he promises to learn a greater number of dance steps in a much shorter time compared to group courses. In addition, the teaching will be tailored directly to the participant.
A group course for adult couples called Taneční jinak led by Bartuňek costs 5,200 crowns per couple and consists of 10 lessons lasting 90 minutes. As for group lessons for individuals, Bartuněk teaches, for example, Argentine Tango, Salsa and Bachata. Five sixty-minute lessons cost 2,250 crowns.
Bartuněk Hrstková teaches Latin
His wife, dancer Kateřina Bartuněk Hrstková, whom StarDance viewers see alongside Oskar Hes, also offers dance courses. The prices are similar, because both spouses work at the same dance school based in Pankrác, Prague. Even Bartuněk Hrstková claims 600 crowns for a 45-minute trial individual lesson.
Hrstková also teaches, for example, a course called Ladies Latin, in which she offers interesting sets with a focus on female elements in the dances Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive, Salsa, Bachata and Merengue. The price is 3 thousand crowns for 10 sixty-minute lessons. However, it is also possible to come to one lesson for 400 crowns.
Individual lessons with Mašková for 1,500 crowns
Adriana Mašková is undoubtedly the favorite dancer among the audience. This year she danced with Filip Blažek, last year with Josef Maršálek and in 2021 with Jan Cina, with whom she won the competition. She also offers her own website individual dance lessons, the content of which is adapted to what the interested party wants or needs to learn. The price for an individual or a couple is 1,500 crowns for 60 minutes.
Mašková also teaches several courses at the Vavruška Dance School, which is located on Charles Square. After looking into list of local teachers moreover, it is evident that she is far from the only one. Other dancers who have appeared on TV screens include, for example, Lenka Nora Návorková, who danced with Jiří Ježek this year, or Tereza Prucková, who danced with Patrik Hartl. Viewers know, for example, Michal Necpál, Michaela Nováková or Jakub Necpál from previous series of the competition.
VIP is not played, the prices are the same
As part of courses for individuals, this dance school offers, for example, Lady Latin lessons. A half-yearly package containing eighteen lessons of 60 or 80 minutes costs 4,140 or 4,980 crowns per person. The particular lecturer does not matter, all courses cost the same.
There is also a dance class for adults, which in many cases is also led by StarDance participants. Here too, however, the price is the same in all cases. Each person pays 3,000 crowns for ten 90-minute courses.
StarDance 2024: Dancing and Dollars

Ah, the dance floor! The place where rhythm meets grace and where celebrities desperately try to avoid stepping on their partners’ toes while pretending they’re not sweating like a sinner in church. The dance competition StarDance is waltzing into the Czech Republic for its thirteenth round this year, and you’d think it was a lucky black cat! The interest is bigger than a buffet at an all-you-can-eat restaurant, and the performances? Oh, they’re trending on social media like the latest TikTok dance challenge.
Since 2006, notable names have shuffled across the StarDance stage. We’ve seen Roman Vojtek, Dana Batulková, Anna Polívková, and Jiří Dvořák, strutting their stuff and pretending to have a better sense of rhythm than a two-left-footed hippo. But let’s not discount the unsung heroes—the professional dancers. They’re the ones actually spinning with the stars while keeping all those celebrities from falling flat on their backsides.
The Dance Craze
If you thought the twirling was just for the TV, think again! These pros are not just showbiz fluff—they’re teaching us average folks how to bust a move. Most of them offer courses for everyday people, because let’s be honest, if you can’t dance well enough to impress that cute barista, what’s even the point?
The Price of Fame… and Dance
Let’s talk numbers. Dominik Vodička, the guy who’s practically a household name at this point, offers individual lessons for the bargain price of 2,000 crowns an hour. Perfect if you want to learn how to cha-cha your way into your next wedding dance—or if you just want to show off at that upcoming family reunion.
And for those who can handle a whole course? Ten lessons will only set you back 3,490 crowns! I mean, if we learned as fast as it costs, half of us would already be winning dance-offs at weddings!
Sliding in the Shadows
Martin Prágr seems to love a bit of mystery, as he’s kept his prices classified information—probably more secretive than my diet plan. But he’s dishing out dance lessons in Prague and Ostrava, so if you fancy learning the tango in a city known for its good beer, here’s your chance. Like a magician, he offers wedding dance creations, but, folks, no price tag.
Meanwhile, if you find yourself in Ostrava and fancy a swing, Jakub Mazůch is ready to show you what you’ve got… for 2,400 crowns for ten lessons. Ostrava’s lush dance landscape, anyone?
Caught in the Spinning Wheel of Dance
The Trial Run with Bartuńek
Lukáš Bartuněk offers a trial lesson for 600 crowns—scoop that up while it’s hot! Just 45 minutes for some serious footwork. The man claims you’ll learn more steps than you can forget by the time you leave. You won’t be busting out the samba in a wedding circle yet, but give it time!
Latin Lessons: No, Not Just in a Taco Shop
His wife, the equally talented Kateřina Bartuněk Hrstková, offers a Ladies Latin course for 3,000 crowns for ten lessons. Seriously, who knew learning to salsa is more expensive than a round of drinks for the whole bar? But hey, it’s your dignity on the line!
Fan Favorite: Mašková
Adriana Mašková, the audience’s darling, offers private lessons at 1,500 crowns per session. Talk about a deal! You could learn to dazzle your friends like a star! And she doesn’t just teach dancing—she teaches dreams!
The Final Sway
The dance school’s pricing system seems fair enough, but remember folks: whether for glory or oppressing your relatives at family events, you’re paying for those pirouettes! Prices are one-size-fits-all, so theoretically, you could have the same instructor teaching you the same moves on a Tuesday that they would on a Sunday, looking fabulous all the same!
So, if you’re ready to shake your tail feathers and dazzle in the dance community, get those wallets ready! Dance lessons might just be the best investment in either a wedding performance or your next chance to embarrass yourself on the dance floor.

The dance competition StarDance, which has become a remarkable cultural phenomenon, is captivating the Czech Republic for its thirteenth season this year. Enthusiastic viewers are tuning in, making the performances by renowned personalities a trending topic across social media platforms. Additionally, the individual dancers are gradually establishing their own identities among the public thanks to their integral roles in the show. In this context, PrahaIN.cz has turned its spotlight on the diverse dance courses offered by many of these professionals, particularly focusing on their pricing structures.
Since its inception in 2006, numerous illustrious figures from the Czech entertainment scene have participated in the StarDance competition. Notable winners of this prestigious title include celebrated names such as Roman Vojtek, Dana Batulková, Anna Polívková, and Jiří Dvořák. However, their success was not solely due to their talent; it relied heavily on the expert guidance of professional dancers who frequently participate in the show, offering invaluable support throughout the competition.
Dominik Vodička charges 2 thousand for private lessons
A standout within the StarDance realm is Dominik Vodička, a two-time champion known for his exceptional skill. He won his first title in 2019 with actress Veronika Khek Kubařová and triumphed again in 2023 alongside dancer Darija Pavlovičová. This year, he is paired with the resilient fighter Martina Ptáčková, and social media is abuzz with audiences casting more votes for him than for his partner. Vodička offers mass Latin American dance classes tailored for women of all ages, emphasizing not just foundational steps but also exciting variations that keep the spirit of dance alive. Ten lessons in his classes are priced at 3,490 crowns.
For those desiring a more personalized experience, Vodička provides the option of private lessons, charging 2,000 crowns for a 60-minute session dedicated solely to one lady or couple. This individualized attention promises to cover the basics of both Latin American and standard dances. He also provides a special package for engaged couples, offering five customized lessons—designed specifically for wedding choreography—for a total of 12,000 crowns.
Martin Prágr keeps his pricing under wraps
Meanwhile, Martin Prágr presents another alluring possibility for dance enthusiasts. Although he maintains an air of mystery around his pricing on his [official website](https://www.martinpragr.cz/), it is established that he conducts 45-minute individual lessons in Prague and Ostrava. He also specializes in creating wedding dances, though specific costs remain undisclosed. His reputation has been bolstered by his participation in the Czech version of Survivor, gaining him a dedicated fan following who now supports his dance endeavors.
Jakub Mazůch, who recently competed on StarDance with the influential chef and social media personality Chili Ta, runs his own dance studio located in Ostrava. Though disappointing for Prague residents, Mazůch’s studio offers a wealth of courses tailored for individuals and couples alike, with each lesson lasting either 60 or 75 minutes. A package of 10 lessons in either format is accessible for 2,400 crowns.
