Star Wars Outlaws is now GOLD and set to arrive in August

August 2024 is one of the months where there will undoubtedly be big releases on all platforms, and one of the most anticipated is none other than Star Wars Outlaws, the open-world game from Ubisoft that has just announced that It’s already GOLD and coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on August 30.

In case you’re not familiar with the term “GOLD,” it basically means that the base game is already finished and ready to be printed on disc to begin shipping to retailers. However, Ubisoft will likely have to continue working on a day-one patch over the next few weeks before it launches.

Following the announcement, both fans of the Star Wars franchise and Humberly González herself, the Venezuelan actress who plays Kay Vess in the game, expressed their happiness at learning regarding the game’s development status.

During the last Ubisoft Forward, we were presented with an extensive gameplay offering more details regarding the game. The game director, Mathias Karlson, led the entire broadcast related to this game, explaining in detail how the adventure will be conceptually and mechanically speaking. Showing everything from space flights and combat, to exploration and infiltration within the planets.

Outlaws presents the player with an exciting adventure within this galactic universe, seeking to make the setting and immersion its most notable points within the game.

Star Wars Outlaws will be 30 hours long

In a recent interview, Star Wars Outlaws creative director Julian Gerighty said that The game will last approximately 30 hoursand these will be enough for an average player to finish the first layer of the game and even for the most completionist player it will take up to 60 hours to achieve it.

There’s supposedly a lot of content packed into Star Wars Outlaws, but perhaps not the suffocating amount you’d find in a game like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Gerighty promised that Outlaws won’t offer a bloated, oversaturated experience like Assassin’s.

“From the beginning, we decided that this would be a 25- or 30-hour adventure on the golden path, 50 or 60 hours for the finalists, and that’s, for a guy with a family and a job, still a good amount of time,” the director said.

In his interview, Gerighty outlined some creative modifications that were made to Outlaws early on. For example, the team had to remove the swimming mechanic, but in exchange, they incorporated playable minigames, which are sure to be a hit with Star Wars fans around the world.
