Five weeks following the start of the “Star Académie” season, fatigue is starting to set in. Some Academicians seem to have difficulty managing their energy and their voice, but they also find it more difficult to accept criticism from teachers.

Only four Academicians were in evaluation this week, and Sarah-Maude managed a clear round ahead of Lara Fabian, Guylaine Tremblay and Gregory Charles.
Even though her heart was pounding before she entered the room, she felt ready to perform “To love Somebody.” While Guylaine and Lara were completely charmed, Gregory underlined the uncertain start to his performance. “I think your problem is mechanical. The attack is hesitant, but then you feel more and more confident. It fixes itself.”
Marily accompanied herself on the guitar on “Can’t Help Falling In Love”. Lara was the first to notice that the Academician wasn’t in great shape. “I feel everything your body tells me, I understand your fatigue,” expressed the director. Guylaine underlined her audacity to tackle such a legendary song, before inviting Marily to take more care of herself, to be less at the service and at the bedside of her roommates.
Jérémy also said he was exhausted, but not necessarily from fatigue. Leaving the assessment room, he said he was “tired of always hearing the same comments.”
He sang “Sand My Boots,” by country singer Morgan Wallen. Guylaine Tremblay opened the hostilities by saying to him: “It looks like you weren’t in it. I felt like I was hearing a lot of other country singers.”
Gregory Charles added a layer. “I have the impression that you judge the quality of what you are going to do according to the reaction that you have already had in the past. I don’t want to break you, I just want you to go find the little piece you’re missing to progress.
Sandrine seemed feverish before entering the evaluation room, and her performance was quite poor on “The Story”. Lara’s face was quite telling as she gasped. “You were next to the level of accuracy all along, argued the director. It was very far from what you showed us in the past.
The teachers’ comments caused a panic attack in the academician, who went to lock herself in a bathroom to cry.
Sandrine, Jérémy and Marily will therefore have to defend their place at the Academy, during the next Variété. And since they all sang in English during the evaluations, Lara Fabian allowed herself to tell them to be curious, to open their eyes and to find songs in French.
