The semi-final of Star Academylast Sunday, saw the consecration of Éloi Cummings who was once once more saved by the public following having interpreted The Beggar’s Opera, by Nicola Ciccone. Strong and solid, the young 16-year-old Madelinot also knew how to play on his charm and his devastating charisma.
The faculty decided to send Krystel Mongeau to the finals, even though she was never acclaimed by the public during the season. These are therefore two very different profiles of Academicians who will compete in the final next Sunday.
Camélia Zaki remains proud of her journey and leaves with her head held high. His goal being to discover himself as an artist during this experience, the mandate is fulfilled. “I wanted to confirm if singing was what I wanted to do in the future, explained the young woman in an interview. It confirmed to me that the artistic field is made for me and it allowed me to discover a lot of things. I was able to grow both artistically and personally.”
She says her first days at the Academy were a little rocky, as she struggled to adjust to life in a group, in addition to being filmed 24/7. “But the more the adventure progressed, the more it became my daily life. I even found it strange to find my family on Sunday evening.
She now feels like she has a lot more confidence in herself and knows her worth better. She also hopes to start a career in music, whether as a singer or in musical theatre.

Olivier Bergeron’s life will not be the same following Star Academy, it is an affirmation that he launches with the aplomb of one who is not ready to go back. He lived this experience as a way out of his world towards a brighter future. “Initially, I was an insecure little guy, stressed and anxious, and not sure I was in the right place. Today I am the opposite of that. I am determined to make music for a living. I have changed a lot.”
In the first weeks at the Academy, the fear of being dislodged and of finding his old life tormented him in the body. “But I just had to think and believe that I might pull it off. I am now ready to create my opportunities to make it happen for real.”
He also says that the fact of exposing his moods, of recounting his bumpy and difficult life path at times, allowed him to free himself. “It did me good to tell a part of my life. I didn’t have a lot of self-confidence, I’m rarely proud of myself. I understood that the barriers were mostly in my head. But when you want to succeed, you really can do it.”
Olivier wants to get to work quickly. Writing songs, building a team to back him up, and doing shows are some of his short-term goals. He should also move soon to his cousin, in Quebec, in order to be able to seize all the opportunities that might present themselves to him.
