Australian rock group Stand Atlantic have shared their latest single, Girl$, which also features fellow alternative rock musicians Lynn Gunn from Pvris and Bruses from Mexico.
The star-studded collaborative single was released along with the announcement of their latest album, Was Here, which will be released on August 23 via Hopeless Records.
For all Stand Atlantic personnel, the Was Here album will showcase the best songwriting throughout their journey.
With its album cover representing their passionate spirit and 15 incredible songs, Stand Atlantic’s latest album will be their vehicle to reach the pinnacle of their career.
“I feel the message of the song Girl$ can speak for itself. With this song I want to show my appreciation for women and personally, my experience growing up knowing that I was attracted to women but still being carried away by feelings where I had to be able to conform to a person’s views a man towards a woman, I think this is because society today is still dominated and influenced by the male perspective. I hope that women can feel connected to this song, but also anyone in between. Who am I writing this song for? Even those who have ever felt belittled are given strange or subtle pressures that society places on all of us and are often given ideas that are based on quite ancient ideas of ancient people.” said Stand Atlantic vocalist, Bonnie Fraser.
“Thus, having the opportunity to collaborate with Lynn (PVRIS) and also Amalia (Bruses) on this song makes this song even more meaningful. Both of them are female musicians, queer, who I really respect and of course very talented,” said Stand Atlantic. (RO/Z-1)
