The National Immigration Service of Panama reported that Venezuelans who wish to enter their territory must apply for a stamped visa at the Panamanian Consular Office of the country in which they are located.
The agency indicated in a statement released on Thursday on its official Twitter account that this new measure was established in Executive Decree No. 77 of August 24, 2022.
Likewise, the institution added that Venezuelans who have a valid visa or residence, duly issued by some of the countries included in article 1 of Executive Decree No. 521 of August 6, 2018, are exempt from the provisions: Canada, United States , Australia, Republic of Korea, Japan, United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Singapore and European Union nations.
In the same way, they emphasize that “all those requests that are in process, will be attended until the conclusion of their respective procedure.”
Colombia issued resolution with changes in the granting of visas
It should be noted that due to the large number of Venezuelans who cross the Darién jungle daily, the number of people from Venezuela in that country has increased this year.

The National Migration Service (SNM) of Panama reported that during the month of July 22,582 irregular migrants passed through the Darién, following crossing the jungle, of which 16,864 people, which represents 74.6%, were Venezuelans.
The migration authorities indicated that the number accumulated until last July was 57.7% higher than the 45,029 irregular migrants registered in the same period last year.
Venezuelan migrants use this dangerous passage between Colombia and Panama on their way to the United States.
