Stage 5 of the 2024 Tour de France: La Maurienne Witnessing cycling’s greatest moments
A few years ago, La Maurienne launched three routes specifically suitable for VAE @David Savary

For a wild and spectacular escape, Maurienne has you covered. Wide spaces and legendary passes often used in the Tour de France. Galibir, Iseran, Lotare, Telegraph… If these big names evoke a high degree of significant difference and therefore great effort, VAE offers a new perspective here.

With road accessibility in mind, Maurienne launched three itineraries specifically for VAE a few years ago. Immerse yourself in the true advantages of the Alps, among extraordinary panoramas and heritage discoveries.

The cycle of 6 myths: In five days, climb 6 extraordinary mountain passes with ease: Télégraphe, Galibier, Lautaret, Glandon, Croix de Fer and Mollard, and admire the stunning panoramic views of the Vanoise and Écrins mountains. The climb is punctuated by “trips of discovery” to immerse yourself in the local environment: lakes, fortresses, museums, gardens, baroque art, Beaufort…a pleasant cycle full of surprises.

La Maurienn’Ita: A route that allows you to cross the border. First, enjoy the complete tranquility on the roads of Maurienne, drive from village to village and discover during your stay some “treasures” of technology, landscape and heritage: Vanoise National Park With its glaciers, the fortified walls of Eseyon, the Opinel Museum, the Val-Cenis Lanslebourg dairy cooperative… a lovely trip to France and Italy.

Between two valleys: The route alternates between gentle strolling and transcendence. Following in the footsteps of the greatest Tour de France winner, following climbing the legendary Madeleine Col, reach the other side of the Lauzière massif, the Tarentaise side, then to the Olympic town of Albertville and back V 62 Road riding is the road back to peace. The key to this is the Saint-François Longchamp balneotherapy center, where you can enjoy well-deserved moments of relaxation.
