Stade Malherbe Caen should announce the new organization chart for its training center this Thursday, January 11, 2024, but some elements of the current reshuffle have already leaked. According to our information, and as Foot Normand wrote, Sébastien Bannier will return to the club as coach of the reserve team. The position was occupied by Nicolas Seube at the start of the season, before he was named professional coach. Romain Leroux, coach of the U19 Nationals, had taken over as interim coach in National 3.

A kid from the club

Sébastien Bannier, 48, is a child of Stade Malherbe. He had been the director of the training center and the coach of the reserve team until 2014. He therefore returned ten years following his departure following having been director of the Ajaccio training center, coach at the training center of Bordeaux and deputy of Aziz Ben Askar, another former Weed Specialist, in Qatar.

Sébastien Bannier played and coached for 24 years at Stade Malherbe. He had been promoted to director of the training center at just 29 years old. He finds a team fourth in N3 and still in the race to move up to National 2, although this is not the club’s announced objective.

Matthieu Ballon at the head of the center

According to our sources, it is Matthieu Ballon who will now manage the Stade Malherbe training center. This is not a surprise, since the name of the National U17 coach frequently came up in the predictions following the promotion of Nicolas Seube, who also occupied this position.
