Stabilization of new contaminations at a high level

The number of new positive cases detected in the territory has stabilized. It is 3,556 against 3,577 for week 26. 18,428 people had been tested at the end of this week 27 (i.e. 1,678 people more than in week 26). A total of 3,937 positive cases are counted by Public Health France (people with a main residence in Guadeloupe and tested both in France and in our department), this figure is stable compared to that of week 26 (3,952 cases ).

The week 27 incidence rate is stable and remains well above the alert threshold for both data sources. It is at 943.5/100,000 inhabitants versus 949.1/100,000 last week (Source SIDEP ARS) if we consider only the people tested on the territory. Its value, of 1,056/100,000 inhabitants, stable compared to the previous week (1,060/100,000 inhabitants) if we consider all the residents of Guadeloupe entered in SI-DEP (French public health data), in a context of recourse to screening increasing by +9%. According to Public Health France, in W27, the highest incidence rate was recorded among 30 to 39 year olds (1,435/100,000 inhab.), stable compared to the previous week. It was followed by 40 to 49 year olds (1,386/100,000 inhab.), also stable compared to week 2022-26. The lowest incidence rates were observed in the 0-9 year olds and in the 90+ year olds, down 22% and 32% respectively.

The positivity rate decreases by 2 percentage points for both data sources and is still above the alert threshold in week 27. Its displayed value is 19.3% against 21.4% in week 26 for with regard to the tests carried out in Guadeloupe (SIDEP ARS data). The TP is 22.5%, decreased (-2 percentage points) compared to the previous week when it was 24.5% for tests carried out for residents of Guadeloupe regardless of the place of sampling (Health data public France).

3 clusters were declared in week 27: 1 in a professional environment, 1 in a health establishment and one in a medico-social establishment. This brings to 10 the number of clusters monitored today in Guadeloupe (3 under investigation and 7 under control). On the evening of July 12, 50 COVID patients were hospitalized in conventional medicine and 5 children in paediatrics, 27 patients were hospitalized in intensive care: 3 were in COVID sheaves at CHUG and 24 were hospitalized in non-COVID sheaves (i.e. 5 at CHBT and 19 at CHUG). 57 are on home oxygen (stable). 2 patients died with covid at the CHUG: they are a man and a woman aged 79 and 81 respectively.
