The Burghausen police speak of massive bodily harm: On the evening of New Year’s Day, two groups clashed, and for a 19-year-old from Rhineland-Palatinate of Somali origin, this argument ended in the hospital.
Armed opponents
The two groups clashed at the trade fair site on New Year’s Eve. The next evening they met once more at Burghausen train station. The victim’s group – six members, all of Somali origin, met a group of around 15 people, all of whom, according to the victim, were armed with knives and hammers. They immediately attacked the six, five were able to escape, but the 19-year-old was overpowered, beaten and injured twice with a knife.
Police provided first aid
The Burghausen police arrived immediately following the crime and provided first aid. However, a search for the perpetrators was unsuccessful. The investigation continues. The Burghausen police are currently ruling out a xenophobic background. Possible witnesses who can provide information regarding the crime or the suspects are asked to call 0049/8677/9691-0.
