Two people were lightly injured on Sunday in a stabbing attack carried out by a Palestinian who was “neutralized” near an Israeli settlement in the West Bank, Israeli police and emergency services said.
The attack took place near Mishor Adoumim, the industrial park in the large settlement of Maale Adoumim in the West Bank, east of Jerusalem, the sources said. Its perpetrator was “neutralized”, said the police without specifying whether he was dead or injured.
The emergency services announced that they had provided treatment on the spot to two slightly injured people, presented by Israeli media as security guards.
The occupied West Bank has seen a sharp increase in violence since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip on October 7. At least 317 Palestinians have been killed there by soldiers, and in some cases by Israeli settlers, since that date, according to a tally by the Palestinian Authority Health Ministry.
