The St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX) will introduce a new information and analytical terminal in the first half of 2024, Alexei Rybnikov, president of the site, said in an interview with RBC Investments.
In the spring of 2022, the Bloomberg trading terminal in Russia and Belarus suspended its work. “Customers in the two countries will not be able to access any of Bloomberg’s financial products, including terminal, data license, data feed, and electronic trading platforms,” said in the agency’s message. The exchange is working on an analogue of foreign financial products that left Russia. The trading platform intends to create a technological platform that will automate the download process and work with data aggregated from various sources, including from various government systems.
“We expect to launch the terminal in the first half of 2024,” added the head of the SPIMEX.
He specified that the platform will have information and analytical functionality. “It is not aimed at making direct transactions. Yes, you can use the information you receive online and integrate it into your system. The system will give you recommendations for performing certain actions, ”the top manager warned.
At the same time, the exchange does not plan to develop the trading functionality of its platform yet, believing that the necessary trading functionality of the exchange itself is already sufficient.
Aleksey Rybnikov did not disclose the cost of an annual subscription to the information and analytical terminal, but stressed that it would be lower than the cost of a subscription to the Bloomberg terminal, which was regarding $24 thousand per year.
The new data terminal of SPIMEX, according to the head of the company, will be useful to large Russian businesses, including the financial sector, in Russia and neighboring countries. According to him, these platforms are capable of become a benchmark for the state represented by regulators.
