The association “Children Have a Future” in St. Gilgen offers holiday experiences without any money.

This year, the St. Gilgen-based non-profit organization “Children Have a Future” once again successfully provided fun and colorful holiday care to more than 70 children and teenagers from the state of Salzburg. As well as horse riding holidays and farm holidays, there is also great demand for football and action camps in the nearby area.

“We support parents who are socially and financially unable to arrange holidays for their children. Furthermore, for most single parents, the holidays and financial resources they need run out very quickly,” said the club’s vice-president. Alfred Pozzetti.

In recent years, the club has noticed very clearly that the financial situation of many families is getting worse and worse, so the number of people applying to join the club has continued to increase.

Cooperation with the Office of Youth and Social Welfare

“In cooperation with youth and social welfare offices across the canton of Salzburg, we can always provide help where the affected families need it most,” says Hannes Herbst of Children Have a Future. . Most applications are submitted through the respective youth welfare offices. There are also various organizations such as the B. Forum family or other social associations that seek support for their disciples. “In recent years, we have been able to build a large network, which means that applications can be processed quickly. The association can rely on these network partners to check and guarantee families’ help needs,” adds Hannes Herbst.

In 2023, nearly 90,000 euros were distributed to more than 300 poor children in the canton of Salzburg. The focus here is on school support and health promotion (treatment).
