The Social Security Administration (SSA) of the United States of America is in charge of sending monthly payments to its beneficiaries. The Americans who are part of the Social Security Program are the people who retired from professional work.
Other SSA beneficiaries are Americans who earn dollars from Supplemental Security Income (SSI). SSI serves the needs of people with disabilities.
This vulnerable population will receive an increase in their monthly stipend starting next month. This government measure is due to a proposal for complementary payments, which were authorized in 33 states of the country.
Complementary payments in different states
These supplemental SSI payments come each month from funds collected by each state from different institutions. The objective of the increase is to help citizens with less financial capacity and their families to face household expenses.
The figures for these additional contributions are different in all states, because agency revenues do not behave in the same way. New York has a complementary payment of $87.00 USD.
The state of Alabama has a value close to $120.00 USD. The authorities reported the name of the states that will raise their SSI wages for supplementary payments.
Among the 33 states are Alabama, Alaska, North Carolina, South Carolina, Colorado, Connecticut, South Dakota, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, and Indiana. There are also Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington. Also included are the states of Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Other complementary payments are implemented in some states, which are the cases of California, Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Vermont. Added to this group of states are Rhode Island and Washington DC The variant in these states is that the complementary payments are assumed by the SSA itself.
