Harare: Sri Lanka win the final of the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifying Tournament. Sri Lanka won the tournament by defeating the Netherlands by 128 runs. Sri Lanka reached the final round of the World Cup following officially winning the top spot in the World Cup qualifiers without losing a single game. The Netherlands had also qualified earlier despite losing.

In the World Cup final round, Sri Lanka will play in Qualifier 1 and Netherlands in Qualifier 2. With this, the picture of the matches in the final round of the World Cup became clear.

After losing the toss and batting, Sri Lanka were all out for 233 runs in 47.5 overs. Sahan Arachinge scored 57 runs and Kushal Mendis scored 43 runs for Sri Lanka. Vikramjit Singh, Logan van Beek, Ryan Klein and Saqib Zulfiqar took two wickets each for the Netherlands.

The Sri Lankan bowlers did not allow the Netherlands, who batted with a target of 234 runs, to touch the ground. Netherlands were all out for just 105 runs. The team’s top scorer was Max O’Dowd who scored 33 runs. For Sri Lanka, Mahesh Thikshana took four wickets while Dilshan Madhushanka bagged three wickets and Vanindu Hazaranga bagged two wickets. Madhushanka was named the man of the match and Shaun Williams of Zimbabwe was named the player of the tournament.
