Sree Narayana Mission Center in Washington: Celebrating the 169th Gurudeva Jayanti and Onam in Grand Style

Washington: The Sree Narayana Mission Center, a Sree Narayan organization in Washington, celebrated the 169th Gurudeva Jayanti and this year’s Onam with a grand function. Swami Srimad Sankarananda, Sage Venerable of Sivagiri Mutt, was the chief guest at the function held at the Durga Temple Auditorium in Virginia. The program started with the devotional song of Deiva Dasakam sung by Mini Anirudhan and gave the audience a unique experience with the discourse of Srimad Sankarananda, the beautiful Thiruvathira performed by the family members, other artistic programs and Onakalli.

Sreenarayana’s family members from Virginia, Maryland and Washington, officials of various organizations and civic leaders participated in the ceremony. Awards were distributed to the students who achieved high marks in the school and college levels last year. SNMC President Maduram Sivarajan gave the welcome address and Secretary Sarupa Anil gave the vote of thanks. Former President Bindu Sandeep was the host of the program.

After the sumptuous Onasadya, a colorful procession added to the occasion. This year’s youth president, Master Karthik Jayaraj, designed the exquisite fig grove which attracted the special attention of the guests.
