‘Squid Game’ Oh Young-soo, first trial next month for indecent assault

The first trial of actor Oh Young-soo (79), who is accused of indecent assault, will be held early next month.

According to the legal community on the 24th, the Seongnam Branch of the Suwon District Court will hold the first trial once morest Oh Young-soo on the 3rd of next month.

Oh Young-soo is accused of making inappropriate physical contact with woman A in 2017. Mr. A sued Oh Young-soo in 2021, but at the time, the police decided not to send him.

Afterwards, Mr. A objected and filed an objection, and the prosecution is known to have prosecuted Oh Young-soo by conducting a re-investigation.

Oh Young-soo’s side is said to have taken the position of “the other party’s one-sided claim” regarding the allegation of indecent assault.

Oh Young-soo made his name known worldwide by playing the role of ‘Kanbu Grandpa’ Oil Nam in the Netflix original series ‘Squid Game’, which was released in September 2021. He became the first Korean actor to win the Best Supporting Actor award at the 79th Golden Globe Awards.
