Of Pakistan Squash Ahsan Ayaz, an up-and-coming player and former World Junior Team Champion, says he started the sport not as a profession but as a healthy activity and then stuck with it.

Ahsan Ayaz, 23, is a professional squash player who won the World Junior Team Champion title for Pakistan in 2016 after eight years.

In an online interview given to Independent Urdu from America, he said, ‘Whatever I do, I give it hundred percent.’

About the trophy he brought home after winning a tournament, he said he used to see his father get up and clean it every day. ‘He would see her for two minutes every day before going to the office. Since then, his support for me has not ended today.’

Ahsan, who is ranked 87th in the PSA World Rankings, has been the National Junior Champion throughout his junior career and became Pakistan’s number one in the International World Rankings in 2018.

Ahsan has represented Pakistan in more than 30 countries and won many awards in different age groups at national and international level.

Ahsan Ayaz has performed brilliantly in recent months and won several major squash tournaments.

As an ambassador of various organizations, Ahsan is running a campaign against hepatitis to spread awareness to prevent this disease.

He said: ‘I am determined to promote this cause as my mother lost her life to hepatitis in December 2017. My mother was my best friend and inspiration for life.’

Ahsan Ayaz has also started the Sports Foundation AAS to help talented people from underprivileged communities.
