Square Enix: Guardians of the Galaxy started below expectations

Square Enix in progress briefing following the recent financial report separately spoke regarding sales performance Guardians of the Galaxy. The publisher was once more not very pleased with his next fresh release.

The company’s management said that the initial sales of the game were below expectations, despite excellent reviews from the press. But Square Enix believes that the situation is fixable – almost immediately following the release and until the new year, sales of Guardians of the Galaxy began to grow thanks to discounts. The publisher believes the game will make up for the weak start over time.

Square Enix’s overall revenue declined due to the lack of major releases on the level of Final Fantasy VII Remake and Marvel’s Avengers, with Final Fanasty XIV bringing in most of the money, which gained momentum due to the Endwalker expansion.
