Second announcement of the day for Square-Enix, the release of The DioField Chronicle later this year on Playstation, XBox, Switch and PC. The all-new tactical-RPG will immerse players in an epic tale of war and honor.
This brand new saga is developed by Square-Enix in collaboration with Lancarse Ltd, a team of strategy game veterans. The game will feature a unique chara-design made by Taiki (Lord of Vermilion III, IV), concept art by Isamu Kamikokuryo (FINAL FANTASY XII, FINAL FANTASY XIII) and an orchestral soundtrack composed by Ramin Djawadi et Brandon Campbellrecognized in particular for their work on the soundtrack of Game of Thrones.
The revealed trailer allows you to discover not only the story but also the new real-time strategic combat system called “Real-Time Tactical Battle” (RTTB). By witnessing breathtaking combat sequences in dioramas, players will be able to analyze the situation at the front in real time, issue decisive orders and use numerous skills, classes and equipment to outwit their opponents.
The DioField Chronicle takes place in a world as beautiful as it is unique, mixing medieval-fantasy and modern influences. Ruled with an iron fist by the Shaytham dynasty, the kingdom of Alletain, located on the island of DioField, knows peace for 200 years. But with the arrival of warlike powers and modern magic, the future is uncertain.
The kingdom of Alletain has many deposits of Jade, a basic ingredient highly sought following in magic and sorcery, which explains the interest of the Empire and the Alliance for this island. Players will have to manage a group of elite mercenaries called the “Blue Fox”. It remains to be seen whether this name will be synonymous with hope or grim tragedy…
