The game “Squadron 51 against the Flying Saucers” arrives for users Xbox One e Xbox Series X|S from September 19, 2023. Join the cause of the Rebel aviators in this 2D spaceship shoot ’em up set in the 1950s. Travel with Lieutenant Kaya and her team, facing aliens, flying saucers and brutal battles against bosses while the future hangs in the balance. Produced by Loomiarts and Fehorama Filmes, the Brazilian indie is now available for PC on the Steam, Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4 platforms.
Shoot ’em up produced in Brazil brings together 2D ships and cut scenes in live action
A group of extraterrestrials called the Vega Corporation arrives on Earth offering unlimited resources to the planet to aid the progress of the human race. When the darkest side of the corporation shows its claws, a revolt ensues. Lieutenant Kaya and the rest of the squad band together to stop Vega and his ruthless leader, Director Zarog. The game marks the largest production of live-action cutscenes ever made for a video game in the country, with a large cast and in glorious black and white.
The player will face eleven stages ranging from snowy mountains, cityscapes and dense forests to defeat waves of alien ships. With attacks from enemy ships at every corner, there are different levels of difficulty so that any pilot, novice or veteran, can have an adventure. There is the option to invite a second player to join you at any time and score together to unlock new weapons and upgrades.
The game and script were created by Márcio Rosa, with executive production by Matheus Piccoli and Giordano Gio, and scene direction by Felipe Iesbick. The cast also includes Paula Souza, Adriane Azevedo, João França (1960-2020), Oscar Simch, and others.
