Spurs have… won (?!?!?!), for the second time in 36 days

In a duel between Texan neighbors at the bottom of the table, it was the Spurs, at home, who got the better of the Rockets (118-109) last night. Not content with simply tanking for Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs, led by excellent Keldon Johnson (32 points at 14/21) and Tre Jones (26 points at 10/16), also seem to want to show the native of Chesnay (Yvelines ) that his potential future teammates also know how to play basketball.

After a thunderous start to the season where the young guard of Gregg Popovich was in fashion Me, I prove like Tayc (five wins out of their first seven games), the residents of the AT&T Center have finally fallen into line (two small victories, including that of this night, out of the… eighteen following games) and are now patiently awaiting the month of June to hope to get their hands on the GÉNIE FRANÇAAAIIIS (hello Stéphane Guy). Until then, Silver & Black fans are passing the time however they can, raving regarding the performance of their 40-point average outside pair Keldon Johnson-Devin Vassell, watching closely the progress of Texas’ Fred VanVleet, Tre Jones, as well as the evolution of the Lewandowski of the orange ball Jeremy Sochan, or even by saluting the regularity of the Austrian Rudy Gobert, Jakob Poeltl, in mode not in my house (10 rebounds and 1 once morest average). Anyway, last night, the Spurs welcomed their neighbors from the Rockets, also potentially interested in Wemby (all that for him to end up playing back in Orlando, life is not fair).

And following a series of twelve consecutive defeats (last victory to date on November 11 once morest the Bucks), it seems that the flavor of the local rivalry gave wings to Pop, who would then have put on his best Jean-Michel costume. Aulas to galvanize his troops before the derby. It seems to have worked since, despite the absences of Vassell (knee), Poeltl (quadriceps) and Sochan (same), the heirs of Avery Johnson and Rasho Nesterovic have brilliantly imposed themselves with, we said, great performances from Big Body (not sick at all) and Tyus’ little brother. Admittedly, this is probably not enough to change the face of the Spurs season, and it is unlikely that we will see a Miami Heat-type comeback in 2017 in the second half of the season (at the same time with Hassan Whiteside in franchise player, who might stop them that year?). Nevertheless, in the midst of this losing season, it remains encouraging for the future of the Texas franchise to see that its inexperienced players know how to respond when the need arises, especially once morest a Rockets team which, any penultimate of the West is it, arrived it almost complete in San Antonio.

Tanking is good, allowing youngsters to express themselves from time to time is even better. By the way (in all fairness, eh, it’s the editor who speaks before the Spurs fan…), a Wemby – Johnson – Vassell triplet, it still has a good dynasty head, doesn’t it?
