Sprite bottles will lose their iconic color

Important change to come for consumers of soft drinks: the “Sprite” will no longer be sold in the famous green bottles.

The company that owns the mark, The Coca-Cola Company, would like to find a more ecological bottle format.

The current bottle contains a green plastic, polyethylene terephthalate, which does not allow the recycling of the 591 ml container.

According to CNN, units that are transparent can be recycled unlike the current format offered by the brand.

The other Coca-Cola banners, such as Fresca or Nestea, will also find transparent containers for their drink.

The listed company plans to reduce its use of plastic by 20 million pounds next year.

The change is supposed to take place in less than a month for “Sprite”.
