It’s regarding :
– People aged 80 or over;
– Immunocompromised patients, regardless of their age;
– Residents of accommodation establishments for dependent elderly people and long-term care units, regardless of their age.
and any person at very high risk according to each individual medical situation and as part of a medical decision shared with the healthcare team.
These people will be able to receive a dose of Covid-19 vaccine from 3 months following the last SARS-CoV-2 injection or infection.
Vaccine orders via the Public Health France order portal by city providers will be interrupted between the end of the winter campaign and the start of the spring vaccination renewal.
This document consists of four parts:
1. Interruption of vaccine orders during inter-campaign periods
2. Modalities for implementing the spring Covid-19 vaccination renewal

4. Conditions for ordering vaccines for the spring Covid-19 vaccination renewal
1. Interruption of vaccine orders during inter-campaign periods
Ordering covid-19 vaccines via the Public Health France (SpF) order portal will be interrupted for city carriers during the inter-campaign period, i.e. at the end of the session on March 4 and 5. The doses ordered during this last session will be delivered on March 14 and 15 and can be used as security stock in town for urgent and exceptional vaccinations.
- The vaccine Comirnaty® from Pfizer-BioNTech can be stored for 10 weeks at a temperature between +2°C and +8°C, following removing from the freezer (always refer to the label associated with the bottle).
- The vaccine Nuvaxovid® of Novavax can be stored until expiry (statement on the box) at a temperature between +2°C and +8°C.
Deliveries to hospitals with -80°C freezers will continuein order to protect a supply circuit at all times.

2. Modalities for implementing the spring Covid-19 vaccination renewal
A vaccination renewal is proposed between April 15 and June 16, 2024 with the possibility of extending it by one month if the epidemiological situation justifies it.. This duration will allow eligible people to be protected during the summer period, particularly during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and to be eligible once more at the start of the autumn campaign while meeting the objective of campaign effectiveness.
Orders will be made via the Public Health France order portal which will open two weeks before the start of the vaccination renewalaccording to the following forecast schedule:
- Opening the order portal: Friday March 29 to Tuesday April 2, 2024
- Deliveries of doses ordered to pharmacies: Thursday April 11 and Friday April 12, 2024
- Start of vaccination: Monday April 15, 2024
- Campaign end date: Sunday June 16, 2024
3. Conditions for storing and administering vaccines in stock State
- Comirnaty® Omicron XBB.1.5 30µg/dose injectable dispersion (gray cap) – Adult form (12 years and over)
Presentation: this vaccine, ready for use (not requiring dilution), is presented in the form of multidose vials which contain 6 doses of 0.3 mL.
Conservation : unopened vials can be stored for a maximum of 10 weeks at a temperature between +2°C and +8°Cwithin the limit of 18 months of storage between -90°C and -60°C.
Administration: one dose of vaccine (0.3 mL) should be administered exclusively by intramuscular injection. A 15-minute monitoring is recommended following vaccination.
- Comirnaty® Omicron XBB.1.5 10µg/dose dispersion (dark blue cap) – Pediatric form (5 years – 11 years)
Presentation: this vaccine, ready for use (not requiring dilution), is presented in the form of multidose vials which contain 6 doses of 0.3 mL.
Conservation : unopened vials can be stored for a maximum of 10 weeks at a temperature between +2°C and +8°Cwithin the limit of 12 months of storage between -90°C and -60°C.
Administration: one dose of vaccine (0.3 mL) should be administered exclusively by intramuscular injection. A 15-minute monitoring is recommended following vaccination.
- Comirnaty® Omicron XBB.1.5 3µg/dose dispersion (brown cap) – Pediatric form (6 months – 4 years)
Presentation: this vaccine is presented in the form of multidose vials which, following dilution, contain 10 doses of 0.2 mL.
Conservation : unopened vials can be stored for a maximum of 10 weeks at a temperature between +2°C and +8°Cwithin the limit of 18 months of storage between -90°C and -60°C. After dilution, the vial should be stored at a temperature between +2°C and +30°C and should be used within 12 hours.
Administration: one dose of vaccine (0.2 mL) should be administered exclusively by intramuscular injection. A 15-minute monitoring is recommended following vaccination.
- Nuvaxovid® XBB.1.5 – Adult form (12 years and over)
Presentation: this vaccine, ready for use, is presented in the form of multidose vials which contain 5 doses of 0.5 mL.
Conservation : unopened vials can be kept for 12 months maximum in the refrigerator, at a temperature between between +2°C and +8°C and away from light. It should not be frozen.
After extraction of the first dose, the opened vial may be stored for 12 hours at +2°C to +8°C or for 6 hours at room temperature not exceeding +25°C, following which the product should be discarded.
Administration: one dose of vaccine (0.5 mL) should be administered exclusively by intramuscular injection. A 15-minute monitoring is recommended following vaccination.
4. Conditions for ordering vaccines for the spring Covid-19 vaccination renewal
From the order session from Friday March 29 to Tuesday April 2, 2024 (Monday April 1 is a public holiday), pharmacies will be able to order vials of the vaccine once more. Comirnaty® the Pfizer-BioNTech et Nuvaxovid® of Novavax for themselves and for authorized effectors who request it directly on the Public Health France order portal.
The associated medical devices are available on the Public Health France order portal.
Vaccines and associated medical devices will be delivered according to the usual deadlines, namely between Thursday and Friday of the following week, i.e. on D+10 with exceptions.
The pharmacy can consult its order confirmation presenting the details of the quantities ordered and the estimated delivery date from the Wednesday following the order session from 6:00 p.m., via the Public Health France order portal (in the order tracking tab); the pharmacy is invited to notify the healthcare professionals for whom it has ordered. It is also recommended to schedule appointments from the day following the estimated delivery date indicated in the order confirmation.
