Luwang News, January 20 (Reporter He Heng, Correspondent Lu Haiyue)“After the Laba Festival, it is the New Year.” The Laba Festival is a traditional festival in my country. Most areas have the custom of eating Laba porridge, hoping that everything will go well in the coming year. In order to express best wishes to the community residents and wish them warmth and health, on the morning of January 18, Shangde Community, Changhe Street, Tianqu New District, Dezhou, launched the theme activity of “Sending Porridge and Warmth during the Laba Festival”.

Although the winter morning is cold, the enthusiasm of community volunteers has not diminished at all. Black rice, red beans, white kidney beans…Early in the morning, right, the public kitchen was busy, the gas stove was lit, and the red beans, barley, black rice, etc. that had been soaked overnight were rinsed and put into the pot. , the staff picked up a big spoon and started stirring continuously. After two hours of cooking, the Laba porridge, which is carefully made from glutinous rice, barley, black rice, longan, red dates, red beans, raisins, peanuts and other grains, is already full of fragrant porridge. Afterwards, community workers delivered bowls of steaming eight-treasure porridge to residents in the area, conveying a deep sense of warmth. Aunt Song, an elderly person in need, said: “This steaming bowl of Laba porridge will warm your heart when you drink it. Thank you for your meticulous care for the elderly.”

A small bowl of Laba porridge not only promotes traditional folk culture and brings the community closer to the residents, but also enhances the harmonious neighborhood relationship among the residents in the area, allowing them to feel the warmth of the harmonious community family.
