Old Volkswagen models were in the spotlight at Château-d’Oex for a weekend
They braved the rain to come to Châteaux-d’Oex this weekend. They are enthusiasts of old Volkswagen models, owners or curious.
The international VW meeting – organized by the Lémania Coccinelle Club – had to adapt to capricious weather, modifying part of the programme. But the story of the Beetle still delighted those who had made the trip. They were able to discover, among the more than 700 vehicles on display, the prototype of a vehicle designed in 1933 by Josef Ganz, a Jewish engineer, which might be the origin of the popular beetle marketed in 1946 by the German group.
