O Spotify released its financial results with several points of growth in the service. Among the highlights, it is worth mentioning that the platform surpassed, for the first time, the number of active people using the application: 515 million. Compared to the previous year, the increase was 22%.
This and other information was disclosed by the company’s CEO, Daniel Ek, who also highlighted the growth in the number of subscribers to the music streaming service. According to the collected data, the current number is 210 million, showing a growth of 15% year-on-year comparison
As for the number of active users, growth continues even if a comparison is made with the previous quarter. In this way, Spotify recorded a 5% growth in its active audience within the platform. In addition, the service also had a 14% growth in its total revenue.
Another detail worth mentioning is the average revenue per user of the app, which ended up dropping by 1 percentage point. However, it is likely to be the result of measures taken by the application by implementing lower values in new markets to attract more people.
Regarding the net loss, the number recorded by Spotify was 225 million euros (more than BRL 1.2 billion). Finally, despite having made the announcement of its financial results, a date for the launch of the high-quality HiFi level, which has been promised by the platform, has not yet been revealed.
Recently, the music streaming application announced an unprecedented partnership with the social network BeReal.
