Spotify online music service shut down for over an hour

Swedish online music service Spotify said on Tuesday it was cut for nearly an hour and a half, with millions of users around the world reporting they lost their connection.

“Something is not quite right, and we are investigating it. Thank you for your reports!” the company wrote on Twitter.

Before that, millions of users had posted messages on the social network regarding problems connecting to the application.

About 90 minutes following his post, Spotify said things were back to normal.

“Everything looks better now,” the Swedish band wrote without providing an explanation for the outage.

Spotify said it affected other platforms.

“Spotify and several other platforms experienced a brief service outage beginning today around [18 h 15 GMT]. Since [19 h 50 GMT]Spotify is back and working normally for the majority of its users,” a company spokesperson told AFP.
