This launch comes a week following the announcement of the partnership between Ticketmaster and TikTok for the sale of event tickets.
The famous blogger Chris Messina shared on his Twitter account a screenshot of the new platform, called Spotify Ticket, thus confirming its launch.
However, Spotify has not yet officially announced this novelty, although the legal conditions of this service can be found on the streaming platform’s website. It can also be read that Spotify can act as a reseller of third-party tickets, as do amphitheaters and promotion agencies.
Spotify Ticket currently only offers a small selection of concerts for which tickets can be purchased and these are only taking place in the United States at this time.
This is not Spotify’s first step into events: the main platform has offered a calendar since last June that recommends concerts near the region in which a person lives.
