O Spotify announced that the podcast transcription feature is being expanded to more channels on the platform including displaying text synchronized with audio content. With this new feature, listeners who are unable to listen to the episode can read the entire content in content from creators who offer this form of accessibility.

As the developer highlights, the transcriptions section is located just below the podcast media player in the same area where the song lyrics appear. The expectation is that the “Read along” function will be progressively expanded to more podcasts in the coming weeks, but there are not many details regarding this.

“Millions” of podcast episodes will receive the tool and, in the future, creators will be able to add media to the transcripts”, said Spotify, confirming its interest in expanding this feature. There is also another function that can be enjoyed by subscribers to the Premium version of the service streaming service, allowing you to skip parts of episodes using the “Chapters” tool.

As with YouTube, podcasters can add specific points in the playback timeline allowing listeners to skip to specific parts. Last Monday (25), Spotify also confirmed a tool that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to automatically translate podcasts into other languages.

Check out the positioning of the function below:

Apparently, the developer intends to expand subscribers’ access to podcasts by implementing improvements and new features in the service. Podcasts on Spotify are a great way to stay informed, entertained and inspired. There are podcasts for all tastes and interests, from news, humor, culture, education, health, entertainment and much more.
