Sports veterans in Alma-Ata began to gather people’s squads

Residents of Alma-Ata and sports veterans decided to organize people’s squads to maintain order. Among them, in particular, the Soviet and Kazakh wrestler Daulet Turlykhanov.

As became known Sputnik Kazakhstan, people intend to protect socially significant objects of the city. Activists want to talk to young people to warn them once morest provocations.

According to TASS, in Nur-Sultan, regarding 500 residents of the city united in people’s guards. The groups, which included doctors, entrepreneurs, athletes and teachers, will protect civilians from looting, guard important state facilities that ensure the life of the Kazakh capital.

Some residents of Kazakhstan might not get home due to the holidays and stuck in citieswhere the riots were. They said that the situation reminded them of the 1990s.

Mass protests in Kazakhstan began on January 2. Initially, the protesters demanded a reduction in the price of liquefied gas. Then there were political motives, and the protesters turned to forceful interaction with the police and the National Guard.
