Sports competition at the Itapúa Rally promotes tourism in the southern region of Paraguay

Asuncion, IP Agency.- This Friday, the symbolic start of the fourth date of the “Petrobras Rally Paraguay National Championship” will take place, an activity declared of national tourist interest by the National Secretariat of Tourism (Senatur). The event will take place at 8:00 p.m. in front of the Hypermarket of the Colonias Unidas Cooperative, Obligado, Itapúa Department.

This sporting competition in Itapúa promotes tourism in the southern region of Paraguay with visits from competitors and national and foreign tourists from neighboring countries.

This Friday there will also be the official tests (Shakedown), from 12:00 to 16:00, for the runners and with access to the public. The special tests will be held this Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th.

The Government declared of National Tourist Interest, through Resolution 963/2024, the event called Fourth Date of the Petrobras Rally Paraguay National Championship of Colonias Unidas 2024, which takes place from Thursday August 8 to Sunday August 11, 2024 , through the streets and roads of the cities of Obligado, Hohenau, Bella Vista, Trinidad and Nueva Alborada, Department of Itapúa.

The organizers of the Colonias Unidas National Rally Championship invited the members of the local organizing committee of the FIA ​​World Rally Championship Rally of Paraguay to participate in this round of the Colonias Unidas Paraguay National Rally Championship.

The objective is that the participation of the different institutions will allow us to obtain an x-ray of the organization of rallies and enrich the knowledge of each institution, in order to provide the best service at the next test event in September.

The preparatory stage of the current rally began on July 25. Free practice started on Thursday, August 8 with a controlled route. This Friday, August 9, the Agrodynamic service park will open.

GPS equipment will also be installed in the race and competition vehicles at the repair park. Technical inspection, safety and administrative review will be carried out at the Petrobras Colonias Unidas service station.

Then there will be a meeting of the Sports Commissioners and the cards will be handed out, as well as the publication of the starting order of the competition.

This Sunday, the 11th, at 3:30 p.m., there will be an awards ceremony and presentation of gifts to the participants by the Centro De Volantes Colonias Unidas.
