To arrive at these results, the researchers studied the effects of surfing, nature walking and yoga on a group of 96 American military personnel suffering from major depressive disorders. In fact, all candidates who participated in a greater number of sessions presented on average less pronounced symptoms following the study compared to the others. Surfers reportedly regained normal social functioning three months following the study.
