Vienna (OTS/SPW) – Social-democratic trade unionists had reason to celebrate on Friday: In the trade union elections for Wiener Linien, Wien Energie and Wiener Netze, the social-democratic FSG (fraction of social-democratic trade unionists) won first place in all elections.
This time, FSG achieved 73.36 percent for Wiener Linien, 92.45 percent for Wiener Netze and even 100 percent for Wien Energie. The FSG remains a creative force within the younion union.
Congratulations to this were made by Barbara Novak, state party secretary of the SPÖ Vienna: “Strong social-democratic trade unions are the best guarantee for fair working conditions and fair wages. This was recently shown by the good wage agreements that our comrades of the Austrian Trade Union Confederation fought for. They thus cushion inflation and enable an affordable life for working people. This is how trade unions strengthen the many – and that is our goal as social democracy. That is why every election victory of social democratic trade unions is so important right now. The increased voter turnout also shows that people appreciate their work. I would like to thank the FSG for the great commitment and congratulations on the election victories!” (End)
