Great loss for the Lower Austrian social democracy
St. Pölten (OTS) – SPÖ Lower Austria state party chairman Sven Hergovich, President of GVV Lower Austria Mayor Rupert Dworak, SPÖ Lower Austria state manager Wolfgang Zwander, Member of Parliament Melanie Erasim and Hollabrunn SPÖ district manager Stefan Hinterberger are deeply shocked by the sudden death of Mailbergs Mayor Herbert Goldinger: “With Herbert Goldinger, we have lost a great social democrat and person who has worked with extraordinary commitment for the population in his home community and in the Hollabrunn district for decades.”
“Herbert Goldinger was a local politician through and through, who tirelessly dedicated his whole life to serving the public. Not only politically, but also humanly he leaves a big gap. In his function as Vice-President of the Lower Austrian GVV, Herbert Goldinger and Herbert Goldinger have enjoyed a long-standing friendship and outstanding cooperation,” says Lower Austrian GVV President Mayor Rupert Dworak, who is deeply affected.
“It’s very difficult for me to find the right words right now, because there aren’t any. For decades he was one of the greatest supporters of social democracy in the Hollabrunn district and a great mayor of Mailberg. It was a great honor for me, dear Herbert, to have been able to work shoulder to shoulder with you,” Melanie Erasim, a member of the Lower Austrian National Council, mourns the loss of her long-time friend and companion.
“Herbert was a role model for us and was always there to help with any questions. A great social democrat, but above all a good friend who you might always count on, left us today,” says Hollabrunn SPÖ district chairman Stefan Hinterberger, stunned.
“On behalf of Lower Austrian Social Democracy, we would like to express our deepest sympathy to the Goldinger family and wish them strength in these dark and difficult hours,” Hergovich, Dworak, Zwander, Erasim and Hinterberger express their sincerest condolences to the bereaved.
Herbert Goldinger had been mayor of the municipality of Mailberg in the Hollabrunn district since 1995. He died unexpectedly of a heart attack at the age of 69.
