Klagenfurt – After the election of Hans Peter Doskozil at the special party conference in Linz today, who was elected the new chairman of the SPÖ with 53 percent of the delegate votes, Carinthia’s SPÖ chairman LH Peter Kaiser presented himself with congratulations, warning appeals and his thanks to the outgoing party chairman, Pamela Rendi-Wagner, a. 609 delegates were invited, 603 appeared – the passion and seriousness with which the candidates, but also the delegates and members, celebrated the party congress is a sign of the strength and unity of the SPÖ, according to Kaiser. “Both candidates, both Andreas Babler and Hans Peter Doskozil, have ignited a new social-democratic fire with their glowing commitment to the future of the SPÖ, which gives us courage for the future overall,” said Kaiser, who spoke to Hans Peter Doskozil regarding the election that took place today Congratulations to the new chairman of the SPÖ.
“As I have already emphasized several times beforehand, I am 100 percent loyal to him, like all the chairmen so far – if desired also as deputy federal party chairman,” emphasizes Kaiser. Right now Austria needs a strong, united, powerful, credible and trustworthy SPÖ as an alternative to the unfortunately often incompetent ÖVP-Green federal government and to the increasingly extreme, dangerous and inflammatory Kickl-FPÖ. “We have to be united as a team – and I’ve always demanded that – and make it clear to the population that the SPÖ is the party that stands on the side of the many who struggle every day to make ends meet,” makes Kaiser clear.
His thanks also go to Pamela Rendi-Wagner, who was the first female chairwoman to take over the party in a more than difficult situation. “She has self-sacrificingly, with a lot of commitment, patience and magnanimity towards not always fair critics – also from her own ranks – as SPÖ frontwoman, to offer political alternatives to make the life of the many people in Austria better. I wish her and her family all the best for the future,” Kaiser concluded.
