SPÖ-KO Fürst: “A family with two kindergarten children in Burgenland saves around 2,500 euros a year compared to a family with two children in Lower Austria.”
Eisenstadt (OTS) – on April 27, 2024 – The proportion of people at risk of poverty or exclusion in Austria remains high. This was reported by Statistics Austria for 2023. At 8.9 percent, Burgenland has the lowest risk of poverty of all federal states, which for SPÖ club chairman Roland Fürst is the result of a “successful social and economic policy by Governor Hans Peter Doskozil”. “Burgenland offers the best support once morest inflation with its housing cost and heat price cap. “Free kindergarten and crèche, free tutoring, minimum wage and many other measures are the best policy for avoiding poverty,” explains social spokesman Roland Fürst.
The latest figures from Statistics Austria also show that children, young people and families are particularly affected by poverty. Free access to education, especially in elementary education, helps families enormously. “A family with two kindergarten children in Burgenland saves an average of around 2,500 euros a year compared to a family with two children in Lower Austria, which of course helps enormously in coping with everyday life,” says Fürst. “These pleasing figures are the result of a consistent social and economic policy by Governor Hans Peter Doskozil,” concluded Fürst.
