Federal Council proposal once morest age discrimination through ID Austria compulsory by the federal government

Vienna (OTS/SK) – Eva-Maria Holzleitner, deputy. SPÖ club chairwoman and Korinna Schumann, SPÖ parliamentary group chairwoman in the Federal Council, are today criticizing age discrimination by the federal government. This requires the digital ID-Austria for funding such as the craftsman bonus or the federal treasury investment. Only a third of people over 14 in Austria have ID-Austria, the rest are simply excluded from these funding and investment opportunities. Schumann is therefore announcing a motion once morest age discrimination for the Federal Council meeting on Wednesday, which is intended to ensure that all funding and the federal treasury are also accessible via the community. ****

Holzleitner: “The craftsmen’s bonus and the federal treasury’s secure savings investments can only be accessed via ID-Austria. The federal government hopes to increase the low number of registrations for ID-Austria. However, it discriminates once morest all those who do not have a smartphone or access to the Internet, or cannot use a smartphone. This particularly affects older citizens, who are effectively excluded from the government. Everyone might get their rights through the municipal office!”

Schumann emphasizes that the municipalities should also receive the necessary support from the federal government: “This government has never adequately taken care of the severely strained municipal finances, which is already painfully felt by the municipalities that provide so many important services for the people in the country . More staff are needed to process applications for access to funding. That costs money. To achieve this, the communities must also receive the necessary support from the federal government,” concludes Schumann. (End) sd/pok
