Family festival of the SPÖ Carinthia: Full force once morest child poverty – Carinthia shows what is possible – Babler: SPÖ design mandate once morest the government’s destructiveness
Klagenfurt (OTS) – “It feels good to be in Carinthia: your passion and your heart and soul are an enormous signal and an example of what is possible if you are serious regarding a policy for the people!” This is how federal party leader Andi Babler welcomed the event Many hundreds of people who came to Lake Wörthersee today for the SPÖ Carinthia family festival.
It was a family celebration that stood once morest child poverty and for fair opportunities – and to ensure that the social democrats never tire of “continuing to fight for the people in our country every day,” said LH Peter Kaiser and managing director Andreas Sucher . Sucher pointed out the project with which Carinthia is a pioneer in Austria – the free kindergarten, which became a reality on September 1st. “With this measure, Carinthia is the social engine, the social turbo. We are proving how it can work throughout Austria,” emphasized Sucher. For SPÖ Chairman Governor Peter Kaiser, “this milestone is living social democracy in the best sense of the word: it reaches the people precisely. And it helps significantly to reduce child poverty.”
“Carinthia – the most child- and family-friendly region in Europe”: The SPÖ Carinthia issued this slogan years ago. At that time, some people laughed at this big declaration of war. Today it is clear: Carinthia IS the most child- and family-friendly region. “It is important to me, as the SPÖ in Carinthia, to clearly signal that we stand for social, fair values that enable the next generations to have fair future prospects. We are ready to reach the next milestone: Carinthia will be the federal state that will do everything it can to end child poverty. It cannot be the case that in a country like Austria every fifth child is at risk of poverty,” said LH Kaiser.
Social officer LHStv.in Gaby Schaunig explained: “There is no rational reason why children in Austria have to be poor. With a joint effort and a great deal of solidarity, we can eliminate child poverty.” Schaunig is convinced: “Just as Carinthia developed a pioneering model for minimum income almost 20 years ago, which was then successfully rolled out across Austria, we are now ready to play a pioneering role in eliminating child poverty in Austria. Together with the experts from social organizations, we are already in the middle of the work process for a model with which we can protect all children in Austria from poverty.” Their words were immediately followed by actions: in order to launch a Volkshilfe pilot project in Carinthia, A fundraiser was launched at the family festival. The declared goal: to involve as many Carinthian children as possible in the pilot project.
“You can see and feel and feel how the Carinthian SPÖ lives the social democratic values,” said party leader Andi Babler, impressed by the initiatives in Carinthia.
