Doskozil admitted in the APA interview that first place in the National Council election and also his preferred coalition variant with the Greens and NEOS will be difficult to achieve, but this must be the goal. Whatever the outcome: “It won’t change how we go into the National Council election. It was decided – and the vote was relatively clear – by well-known representatives of the social democrats to go this route.” This has to be accepted: “And I’m happy to accept it because it’s very nice to work for Burgenland.”
He is “absolutely certain” that Babler is the SPÖ’s top candidate in the National Council election, regardless of the result in the European elections. The aim is to take first place in the National Council election: “A party’s goal must always be to win and promote its own positions in the best possible way. That’s an ambitious goal, and I don’t want to deny that.”
Doskozil admitted that it would be very difficult for the Reds to become the party with the largest number of votes. He continues to favor a coalition with Green and Pink, but that would also be “very, very difficult. Federal party chairmanship is no longer an issue
