Here too, this warm hue creates an elegant contrast with the colder gray gold of the case. Featuring a traditional railway-style minute track, Arabic numerals and a harmonious arrangement of the four auxiliary dials, the dial reflects the essence of this family of watches whose name evokes Ferdinand’s birth year. Adolph Lange.
The multiple displays of the perpetual calendar and the split-seconds chronograph integrate with the classic aesthetics of the model reminiscent of the Lange pocket watches of yesteryear. The date displays associated in pairs are available at 3 and 9 o’clock: the left auxiliary dial indicates the date and the day of the week, the right one the month and the leap year.
The moon phase display, which, at 6 o’clock, shares an auxiliary dial with the small seconds, brings a touch of color while at 12 o’clock, the minutes counter and the power reserve appear. The shorter gold hand on the inner dial indicates when it is time to re-energize the movement with the winding crown. The longer blued steel hand provides information on the number of minutes measured.
The hand-wound L101.1 movement built according to traditional characteristics is made up of 631 components. The QP mechanism alone uses 211, while 206 others belong to the split-seconds chronograph mechanism.
The regularity of the rate is ensured by a screw balance driven by a balance spring developed and manufactured in-house. The sapphire crystal back allows you to admire the emblematic quality elements of Lange such as the screwed gold chatons, the blued screws, the precision adjustment of the swan’s neck spring and the hand-engraved balance cock.
The workmanship of the twice-assembled movement reflects the exacting standards of A. Lange & Söhne down to the smallest detail.
« Equipped with three classic complications, the in-house caliber L101.1 is one of our most elaborate movements. Each of them represents in itself a technical feat, and the combination of the three constitutes an additional challenge both for our manufacturers and for our watchmakers, because the setting and precise adjustment of all the mechanisms requires considerable dexterity and immense technical expertise says Anthony de Haas, Product Development Manager at A. Lange & Söhne.
The dimensions of this watch remain unchanged: in fact, the case measures only 14.7 mm thick for a diameter of 41.9 millimetres. In addition to this new white gold model with a pink gold dial, only 100 of which are produced, the 1815 Rattrapante QP is also available in two other versions, in a platinum/silvered or pink gold/silvered case/dial combination.
