Splash into Excitement at New York State’s Largest Indoor Aquatic Paradise

For me, summer is a month of business travel. The semester ends at the end of May, and various trainings and conferences are held in the summer before the new semester begins.

For a writer who enjoys traveling around New York, a business trip is also an opportunity to visit various accommodations in New York that I have not been to before for free. The Sagamore Hotel, which was also introduced in ~~, is a place I visited on a business trip, but it is so beautiful that it remains a good memory to this day.

This year, I will introduce various aspects of New York State, including the largest indoor water park in New York State and various restaurants in Albany, the capital of New York, which I experienced during two business trips during the summer.

The first business trip destination is the University of Albany, one of the Big 4 campuses of the State University of New York system! Since New York State is so large, there are 64 State University of New York, and it is located in Albany, the capital of New York, and can be said to be a comprehensive university where you can pursue a doctoral program.

This was my first visit to the University of Albany, and I was surprised by how nice the campus facilities were and how well the branding was done. There were at least four fountains, and there were places with beautiful columns like Greek temples, but their grandeur was not captured well in photos.

Since many students from various countries come to the University of Albany, you can taste not only American food but also food from various countries nearby. There is a Korean bb.q chicken franchise in Albany and a Korean BBQ restaurant where you can grill pork belly.

Among the many options, there are three Albany restaurants that cater to both Korean and American palates: Josie’s Table, Jacob & Anthony Italian, and The Scene.

Josie’s Table Josie’s Table

In a nutshell, Josie’s Table is a great date spot for couples and a place for wealthy retirees to find delicious, yet affordable food.

No matter what I ordered, it was so delicious and healthy that I only visited once for lunch and once for dinner during my 5-day business trip. The author ordered Braised Beets, which was a root vegetable beet salad with chicken, and it was so delicious that I wondered if beets could be this delicious.

Another highly recommended menu is Mushroom Pappardelle, a pasta that combines the widest pasta noodle, pappardelle, with mushroom cream sauce. Those who like cream sauce or wide noodles will be amazed by the taste.

The restaurant’s interior and atmosphere are also very nice, and all five of my colleagues who visited the restaurant raved about the food, so I highly recommend it if you have the chance to visit Albany.

Jacob & Anthony Italian Jacob & Anthony Italian

The salads and pastas from Jacob & Anthony Italian were just as delicious as the salads and pastas from Josie’s Table!

While Josh’s Table boasts a more modern interior, Jacob & Anthony Italian has an industrial interior. The menu items we ordered here were Sunday Gravy Pasta with meat simmered in tomato sauce and Tuscan Salad.

I only knew about raguna bolognese, a sauce made by boiling meat in tomato sauce, but the deep flavor of the meat juice and the tangy taste of the tomatoes were just right for my taste. It was so delicious that I scraped up the remaining sauce with bread before the meal.

Both restaurants are located in Stuyvesant Plaza near the University at Albany, making them a great place to stop by for a bite to eat and some shopping.

The Scene Coffee & Cocktails The Scene Coffee & Cocktails

The Scene is a hip brunch spot popular with Albany youth, and is operated as a cocktail/coffee bar. The interior is luxurious with green plants and gold, and the coffee menu features drinks that young people like, such as the Blue Matcha (Iced Blue Butterfly Match Latte).

So the only downside is that the prices are on the high side. Other than the prices, the brunch and light lunch menus, such as the salmon salad and almond toast, were all good.

However, please note that it is closed in the evenings from Sunday to Wednesday when you visit!

Boasting New York State’s largest indoor water park, Kartwright Resort is located in the city of Monticello in the Catskill region of New York, a popular camping destination.

As I entered, a spacious lounge caught my eye, and there was a brazier outside for a fire. The room also had a refrigerator and microwave, as well as extra beach towels for use after playing in the water, so I thought it would be a good place to visit with family.

There are restaurants within the resort where you can eat, but if you drive about 10 minutes, you can enjoy a variety of food in downtown Monticello. In the United States where prices are high, the best place to eat relatively inexpensively is a diner!

Miss Monticello boasts over 1,000 Google reviews, and when I tried their signature Reuben sandwich, it was absolutely delicious. The sauerkraut, which is pickled cabbage, and the pastrami, which is like beef ham, were well-balanced in flavor, and it was even more delicious than Katz’s Delicatessen, which is famous among Koreans for its similar menu in New York City!

Another great place to eat is Bagel Bakery! This place used to only sell bagels in the summer when it first opened in the 1960s, but it became so popular that it is now open all year round.

Not only is the bagel delicious, but the interior is reminiscent of the 60s or 70s, just like something out of an American movie, and I really liked the atmosphere itself.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly water park in the Catskills area, I highly recommend Kartwright Resort, and if you’re looking for a good restaurant nearby, I highly recommend Miss Monticello’s Diner and Bagel Bakery!
