A Hispanic family in Texas denounced that a woman they hired to perform a spiritual “clean” in their home stole $30,000 from them that they had in a safe to buy a property, Univision reported this Saturday.

The robbery occurred in the Round Rock area of central Texas and is being investigated by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.

The family hired the services of a “spiritualist” named Sandra who offered “cleans” to achieve health and prosperity and who paradoxically left them with less money than they had.

“It was a ‘down payment’ (initial payment) that we had for a house and sadly it took away all the dreams and plans that we had from so much effort and so much struggle,” said the mother of the family, who did not want to be identified.

The Hispanic channel Univisión published on its website a photograph of the pamphlet that “Sandra” handed out in the parking lots of Latino supermarkets in the area.

“She came several days, lit some candles, began to pray, but when she was going to come last week she did not return. My husband was waiting for her and she no longer answered the call, “said the robbery victim.

When the family was asked how “Sandra” came to have access to the safe, the husband told Univision 62 that they carelessly left the keys on one of the tables in the room near the safe.

The family has asked people who have interacted with “Sandra” or are clients of hers right now to call Williamson County authorities.
