LH Mikl-Leitner: This building is a signal that stands for the future and optimism

St. Pölten (OTS) In the market town of Spillern (Korneuburg district), Schulgasse 6, the newly built elementary school was officially opened by State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner yesterday afternoon. The modern, bright, friendly and open building, which includes eight classrooms, a library, various leisure, group and side rooms, a large gym, large auditorium and kitchen, was built in around a year. 12 teachers teach 117 children here. The blessing was performed by Pastor Paul Dubovsky and Deputy Superintendent Christian Brost. The celebration was accompanied by musical performances by the elementary school children.

“This project has really succeeded in the truest sense of the word; this school leaves nothing to be desired. The new elementary school has become a beautiful jewel box and this building is an important signal towards the future and optimism,” said Mikl-Leitner, who also emphasized: “The teachers and the director work here with a lot of competence and passion and achieve a really great work.” The state governor expressed respect, thanks and recognition to the teaching team and everyone who works here, and she also assured the market town of Spillern full support for their concerns.

The new school is structured according to “clusters”. Two classrooms and a group room are connected by a “marketplace”, thus forming a unit that enables cross-class learning. “We have been working on this project for ten years. It was a courageous step, “To rebuild this elementary school. There will soon be a photovoltaic system on the roof and a green facade is planned,” said Mayor Thomas Speigner.
