An 8-year-old boy in Bolivia was bitten by a spider until he turned into “Spider-Man”, and was quickly transferred to hospital following being bitten by a black widow, according to health authorities in the Andean region of Oruro, according to the Argentine newspaper “Infobay”. .
And the newspaper pointed out that in the town of Oruro in Fisholoma, the 8-year-old was playing near a river and found a black widow spider under a stone, and he took it and then put it on his hand in order to bite her and at the same time turn into Spider-Man.
explained the head of the service’s zoonoses program. Department of Health of Oruro, Ernesto Vasquez “The child, without thinking regarding the risks, would have picked it up, he points out, he would have put it on the back of the palm where the spider had cut it, then the minor would have put the spider in a cup, returned home and two to three hours following being bitten He began to show some symptoms such as bone pain and cramps.
At first the boy did not want to tell his mother what had happened, but following much persistence he ended up telling her that he had been bitten by a spider.
The woman first took the child to a health center in the neighboring town of Vento, and from there they referred him to San Juan de Dios General Hospital in Oruro.
And pediatricians at the hospital contacted Vasquez so that the minor might be evaluated and it was verified that he had been bitten by a black widow, before which an antidote serum was applied and he was able to stabilize in half an hour.
“We are very concerned because the analysis and the questions that were asked of the child when he had already recovered, we knew that he was going to raise the spider for a simple purpose, Vasquez warned, indicating that he wanted to become Spider-Man.
The expert pointed out that this type of spider is “very attractive to children” due to its colors, which they usually associate with the colors of the character created by Americans Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.
Vasquez urged parents to “talk to children”, especially those under the age of 11, and recommended that spiders not try to bite them, because if they are not treated immediately, the consequences can be “very unfortunate”.
In 2020, a similar case occurred in the rural town of Chianta, in the Potosi region of the Andes, where three children aged 12, 10 and 8 were bitten by a black widow for the same purpose, although they also managed to save their lives.
